When selecting a major, it's important to learn more about career paths and industry trends. We're here to help Foundation students find a major by assessing their professional goals, skill sets, and interests. Students are encouraged to make an appointment with a career advisor to assist in making this important decision. If you are a matriculated student or graduate of NUST (bachelor's, master's), you can book an appointment with one of our Career Advisors.

You can request a 30 minute career counselling appointment online via [email protected] with career counsellors. During our busy time, there could be a two week wait for an appointment, so please plan accordingly.

We recommend that you come for your practise interview dressed professionally. It helps to better simulate an actual interview and we can offer you advice on your business attire.

Career Development office offers Skills Inventory, Job Search Strategies. You must meet first with a career counsellor to determine your needs.

You can find an internship by attending internship fairs, applying to NUST Industry Liaison Office (ILO) and Career Development Centre, (CDC), applying to companies directly, and asking your career adviser or faculty for ideas. Before you apply for an internship, be sure to review the information and instructions posted on the internships section of this site.

Career Development will help you make the most of your experience and education by making an in-depth review of your Resume and cover letter. Post your Resume to [email protected] and your adviser will review it within seven business days. You will receive an email when the review is complete.

Our professional counsellors can provide personal and individual assistance with these important issues. They are attuned to the stresses that seniors experience as they complete their degree requirements and seek employment or admission to graduate school.

It is fairly common for first year students and sophomores to be unsure about their choice of majors and future career plans. Schedule an appointment with one of our career counsellors. The first step is to request an appointment with a career counsellor ASAP. Bear in mind that academic choices and career choices are not the same. If you're a electrical engineering major, that doesn't mean that you must become a electrical engineering. Many employers that recruit at various prestigious companies are more concerned with skills than your major. They are looking for strong communication, writing, analytical, and organisational skills—skills that your civil engineering degree can help you to develop.

Misspelled words, incorrect punctuation, and grammatical errors will send your résumé straight to the trash: Be sure to have it reviewed by a faculty member, career counsellor, or trusted friend with good editing skills before you send it out. The University Writing Centre has trained tutors who can help you polish your skills

Yes! We can arrange reciprocal services at most colleges and universities around the country. Contact Mrs. Atiya Zulfiqar, DD CDC at [email protected]. Include your name, major(s), month and date of graduation, and up to three schools where you would like reciprocity. Note: Many Universities may not offer reciprocity to this is going to be done on case to case basis.

Each student/alumnus is limited to two appointments per semester. If you cancel an appointment with at least 24 hours notice, you will be invited to reschedule. If you miss both appointments without giving 24 hour notice, you cannot make another appointment until the next semester. If you are more than 15 minutes late to an appointment, Career Services reserves the right to reschedule. These policies ensure fair access to our services by all users.

All offices are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday.

The NUST University Alumni Career Network is a database of NUST graduates who have volunteered to be mentors and share their career experiences with students and other alumni. These individuals have diverse academic backgrounds and represent many career fields.

Despite a challenging job market, 60 percent of NUST 2012.

Our services include individual career counselling appointments, drop-in hours, workshops, career resource centres, career assessments, on-campus interviewing, internships, job listings, resume critique sessions.

We host many of most popular, sought-after companies in design and related fields. These fairs give students opportunities to meet with company representatives on campus. Companies that have joined us in the past include Nestle’, Schlumberger and Telenor.

Our drop-in hours are at the following times and locations: Career & Development Centre: Monday and Wednesday, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Drop-in hours are on a first come, first served basis, so please plan accordingly. You can meet with a counsellor about your resume, cover letter or general career concerns. Sessions last about 15-20 minutes.
